What does Warren mean?

It comes from Olde English/Anglican meaning “Warrior” but the word Warren actually comes from Middle French (Olde French) origin word “Varen” meaning “Game Park”. A small rural village in Southern France, Varen used to be where Game animals such as Ducks, Rabbits and the like used to be breed. The name Warren also comes from Germanic origin word “Warenne” meaning “Protector”.
